FAQ - frequently asked questions
What is critical intervention for organizations?
Critical intervention is a rapid, professional, and short-term support provided after an incident that exceeds the capacity of employees or the organization to cope on their own. Its goal is to restore a sense of security, limit the psychological impact of the incident, stabilize the situation, and support HR, managers, and management in making the right decisions. This is the first stage of professional assistance, which helps reduce the risk of crisis escalation and plan further actions.
How does crisis intervention for an organization differ from critical intervention for an employee?
Employee intervention focuses on providing individual support to someone experiencing a crisis, such as the loss of a loved one, a traumatic event, or a mental health crisis. Organizational intervention has a much broader scope, encompassing simultaneous support for management, HR, managers, teams, and employees. In addition to psychological support, it includes a risk assessment, communication recommendations, an action plan, and the organization of further support for the entire company.
What does crisis intervention look like in practice?
Each intervention is tailored to the nature of the incident, but typically involves four stages: urgent contact and situation analysis, risk assessment, initiation of appropriate actions, and preparation of recommendations for the following weeks. Depending on the organization’s needs, support may include consultations for HR and management, psychological support for employees, team meetings, and stabilization activities. Interventions are conducted by phone, online, or at the client’s office.
Is critical intervention only available to companies using the EAP24 program?
No. We provide critical intervention for organizations covered by the EAP24 program, as well as on a one-off (ad hoc) basis. At the same time, companies with an EAP program have the ability to seamlessly transition from intervention to further support activities, such as psychological consultations, psychiatric support, training, mediation, and programs to strengthen organizational resilience.
How quickly can crisis intervention be initiated?
In urgent situations, contact with the organization occurs immediately upon receipt of the report. From the very first conversation, we help assess the nature of the incident, determine the risk level, and select the appropriate support model. In many cases, a quick consultation allows for appropriate decisions to be made and the impact of the crisis to be mitigated at an early stage.
